The diaries touch on the day-to-day experiences of a missionary of the time. Hammond went on to be president of the San Juan Stake of the LDS Church from 1884 to 1900.

The Phil D. Jensen diaries (1963-1967) contain five bound volumes of typescript detailing his missionary experiences. Jensen served as president of the North Scottish Mission of the LDS Church from 1963 to 1965. In 1965 he became president of the California Mission.

The Thomas A. Kerr diary (1899-1900) is a missionary journal kept by Kerr. Thomas A. Kerr (1849-1942) was born in Harthill, Lanarkshire, Scotland. He was set apart for a mission to Great Britain on 17 February 1899 and arrived in Liverpool on 13 March 1899. He was assigned to the Scottish Conference and labored in the areas of Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Uddington.

Roberts was a Mission President for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and Knecht was a missionary for the Eastern States Mission from 1924 to 1926, serving as Roberts' secretary for most of that time.
