The Margaret Condie Sharp papers (1872-1924, 2003) contain an 1872 diary and two articles about Sharp. Margaret Condie Sharp (1839-1928) came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1862. Sharp's husband, Joseph Sharp, died when she was twenty five, leaving her to raise six children alone.

The Kenji and Helen Shiratori Shiozawa papers (1925-2017) consist of photos, diaries, school documents, personal and professional certificates, yearbooks, and correspondence primarily by Kenji Shiozawa with additional materials relating to Helen Shiozawa. Materials cover Kenji’s schooling and career as a landscape architect and environmental planner, Kenji and Helen’s involvement in the Japanese American Citizens League, and Kenji’s personal life events.

The Ellis Reynolds Shipp papers [photocopies] (1866-1962) consist of an autobiography and diary transcription of Ellis Shipp (1847-1939) by her daughter, Ellis Shipp Musser. Ellis Shipp was a Latter-day Saint pioneer and doctor, specializing in obstetrics and nursing.

The Clarice Short papers (1904-1975) consist of diaries, correspondence to her family in New Mexico, and rough drafts of poems. Short was an author and a member of the University of Utah Department of English.

The William H. Smart diaries (1886-1937 and 1979-1981) describe William activities as a Mormon missionary in Europe and as president of the Eastern States mission (1899-1900). They also describe his business activities in southeastern Idaho and eastern Utah as well as his town settlement and LDS Church activities. Included with the diaries are articles and clippings about his life.

The Alma Lamoni Smith diary (1857-1858) details his mission for the Church of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) to Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. Included in the collection is an access copy and a transcript. The original journal is located in Reserve.

The Anne M. Smith papers (1936-1980) primarily stem from material gathered by Dr. Smith in 1936 and 1937 in the course of field work conducted among the Native American peoples of the Great Basin, the Ute Tribe in particular.

The Joseph F. Smith family papers (1860-1944) contain correspondence, diaries, a letter book, and general materials pertaining to the life of Joseph F. Smith, his wives, and family. Smith was the sixth President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). He was the last President of the Church to have personally known the founder of the LDS faith, the Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., who was also his uncle.

The Nicholas Groesbeck Smith papers (1899-1963) contain diaries, correspondence, and a biography written by Smith. Smith was an LDS missionary in the Netherlands and served as LDS MIssion President in South Africa, Los Angeles, and the Northwestern States Mission.

The Ralph and Susannah Smith collection consists of typescripts of family histories. In addition to "A History of Susannah J. Smith, 1862," the collection contains "Excerpts from the Diary of Ralph Smith, Pioneer of 1855," and a biographical sketch of Ralph Smith.

The James Smithies family papers (1846-1859) consist of biographical and genealogical materials concerning James Smithies and his family. These materials are in the form of photocopied and transcribed diary entries and family group sheets that focus on the journey Smithies undertook with the Mormon pioneers from Nauvoo, Illinois, to the Salt Lake Valley from 1846 to 1848. Some diary entries are recorded up and through the year 1859.

The Reed Smoot papers (1909-1986) consist of copies of Smoot's journal as well as articles concerning his life and politics. Reed Smoot (1862-1941) was an Apostle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a United States Senator from Utah. He filled both positions simulatneously. Boxes 1-8 cannot be photocopied.

The Erastus and Artimesia Snow papers [typescripts] (1818-1880) consists of one volume compilation of letters written by Artimesia to her husband, Erastus and eight journals of Erastus arranged into one volume. Erastus Snow was a Mormon apostle and missionary, an associate of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, and a Mormon pioneer in Utah. Artimesia Snow was the first of his several wives.

The Zerubbabel Snow diary (1856-1857) consist of a photocopy of Snow's original diary describing his LDS Church mission to Tahiti.

The Horace Sylvester Snyder family papers (1902-2010) contain the personal and professional papers of Horace Sylvester Snyder (1912-2010) a professional photographer, and his father, Horace Greeley Snyder (1873-1951), the owner of multiple mines in the American West. The collection contains biographical information and correspondence of extended family members within the Snyder and Sylvester families.

This collection (1864-1867) consists of a bound photocopy of the original mission diaries of George B. Spencer. The diaries detail his experiences serving a mission in Europe for the Mormon church.

The James Starley journal (1870-1886) was kept by Starley in which he describes his day-to-day life in Fillmore, Utah.
