Nauvoo Masonic Lodge minutes
The Nauvoo Masonic Lodge minute books (1841-1846) are comprised of copies of minutes. The Nauvoo Lodge would be primarily attended by those of the Mormon religious persuasion. For a time Masonic rites helped shape the direction of Joseph Smith's theology and some scholars note the similarity between the Mormon temple endowment ceremony and Masonic rites. At its height, there were 1,500 Mormons involved in Freemasonry in Illinois.

Included are business and financial records, materials dealing with annual Messiah renditions, correspondence, press materials, and papers dealing with various other productions performed by the society. The Salt Lake Oratorio Society was incorporated in 1914 and has become an internationally acclaimed music group.
Scottish Rite Temple records
The Scottish Rite Temple records (1977-1979) consists of programs and bulletins dealing with reunions of the order. The Scottish Rite was founded in 1801 in South Carolina and is presently headquartered in Washington, D.C. The Utah division was founded in 1903. The Scottish Rite sponsors speech and learning disorders clinics. The Utah division sponsors two Children's Learning Centers.
Jack Shapiro papers
The Jack Shapiro papers (1944-1979) contains issues of the Illustrated London News, an article, and a scrapbook regarding the Utah Gun Collectors Association. Shapiro established Jack Shapiro Advertising/Public Relations in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the Utah Westerners, the Scottish Rite Masons, and a volunteer at the Marriott Library in book binding.

Eliza R. Snow letters and histories of charitable societies in Utah
The Eliza R. Snow's histories of charitable societies in Utah collection (1876) consist of letters and historical reports, solicited by a Mrs. A.H. Smith and collected by Eliza Snow, from Utah's charitable societies. Reports were not submitted by some societies. Snow's own report on the LDS Church's Relief Society is probably the best summary statement on the role and activities of women in the LDS Church during the mid 19th century.
