Edward Abbey audio collection
Collection on Edward Abbey
The Edward Abbey papers (1954-1980) contain manuscripts, correspondence, and printed material. Abbey was a teacher, a writer, an advocate of environmentalism, and a vocal critic of public land policies.
Bruce James Black papers
The Bruce James Black papers (1992-1994) contain a copy of "A Chronological History of Environmental Movement in Utah," as well as research notes, articles, and chronologies. Black served an LDS mission to Germany and graduated from University of Utah in 1979.
Richard Bradley papers
The Richard Bradley papers (1954-1966) contain correspondence, statements to federal agencies, papers, publications, pamphlets, and news clippings. Bradley was a physics professor at Colorado College from 1961 to 1987. A conservationist, he fought the construction of hydroelectric dams in the Grand Canyon and the diversion of water from the Colorado River.

The Capitol Reef National Park records (1880-1999) consist of photocopies of material collected by Park Service employees at Capitol Reef National Park, and include correspondence, reports, articles, news clippings, notes, maps, biographies, and autobiographies relating to the establishment of Capitol Reef National Park and the development of the surrounding landscape.
Walter Pace Cottam papers
The Walter Pace Cottam papers (1929-1988) contain biographical and commemorative articles and speeches about Walter Cottam. Also included are photocopies of three speeches given by Cottam primarily dealing with beautification and conservation of Utah natural resources, correspondence, a notebook, and research information. Cottam was a professor of botany at the University of Utah, 1931-1962.
Tim DeChristopher protest collection
The Tim DeChristopher protest collection (2011) consists of flyers and brochures announcing protests in solidarity with Tim DeChristopher. DeChristopher disrupted a U.S. Bureau of Land Mangement oil and gas lease auction December 19, 2008, in Salt Lake City, Utah. A federal grand jury handed up a two-count felony indictment against DeChristopher that accused him of violating the terms of the auction he promised to observe when he signed up to bid.
Jerry S. Dixon papers
The Jerry S. Dixon papers (1971-2009) consist of journals, scrapbooks and correspondence. Dixon wrote several journals which recounted his travels and adventures throughout Alaska and other parts of the world. The scrapbooks include newspaper clippings, magazine articles and correspondence which document his environmental and educational concerns and activities.

The Glen Canyon Action Network records (2000-2002) include press releases, newsletters, and correspondence. The Glen Canyon Action Network was founded in 2000, its name was changed to Living Waters in 2001. Living Waters became part of the Waterkeeper Alliance in 2002, and added Colorado Riverkeeper to its name.
Glen Canyon Institute records
The Glen Canyon Institute (GCI) was founded in 1996 as a charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission of restoring a healthy Colorado River through Glen Canyon. The Glen Canyon Institute records (1998-2005) contain correspondence, news releases, and copies of the intitute's newsletter Hidden Passage.
Grand Canyon management plan collection
The Grand Canyon management plan collection (1967-1974) contains memoranda and correspondence concerning meeting reviews, new regulations, research requirements, and safety procedures in Grand Canyon National Park. These memorandua and letters were written by the government offices of the National Park Service, Department of the Interior, and Grand Canyon National Park and sent to river running companies or vice versa.

The William R. Halliday papers (1960) contain correspondence regarding the geological features of the Glen Canyon reservoir area. Included are letters between Senator Henry Jackson and Fred G. Aandhal (Secretary of the Interior), Aandhal and John Hazle (president, The Mountaineers), and Hazle and William R. Halliday. Also included is an "Index to Glen Canyon Files."

Katie Lee manuscript
The Katie Lee manuscript is entitled Dandy Crossing and is a draft for her book, The Ghosts of Dandy Crossing. Lee is a folk singer, writer, actress, photographer and environmental activist.
