The Ted Curtis Smythe papers (1830-2008) contains articles, notes, course materials, organization information, and journalism materials. Smythe is Professor Emeritus of Communications at California State University, Fullerton. He is co-editor of "Readings in mass communication" and numerous scholarly articles in journalism history.

Materials of particular interest include St. Clair's notes and lecture material regarding the history of American mining. This was later published by the Bureau of Mines in a book called Mineral Industry in Early America.

S. S. Stevens papers
The Stanley Smith ("Smitty") Stevens papers (1934-1981) contain biographical information, articles, and other publications. He went on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1925-1928 to Belgium and Switzerland. Stevens received a Ph.D. in 1933 from Harvard University. He later became a professor and the director of the psychophysics laboratory at Harvard University.
