The Utah Coal Mining History records (1870-1996) consist of correspondence, research materials, newspaper clippings, congressional documents, maps, and essays relating to the Utah coal mining industry. These materials pertain to minority miners, mining hazards, mining labor history, and various social and economic issues.

The Utah Copper Company records (1906-1927) consist of stock certificates, photocopies of annual reports, and a souvenir booklet.

The Utah Fuel Company records (1889-1933) consist of maps and drawings of coal mines and various projects owned and carried out by the Utah Fuel Company. The majority of the maps and drawings concentrate on Utah land holdings and projects. However, there are also some that deal with Colorado holdings of the Utah Fuel Company.

The Utah Mineralogical Society photograph collection contains slides and photographs of exhibited minerals and various society field trips.

The Utah mining district maps collection (circa 1915) consists of maps of the Tintic and Park City mining districts.

The Utah Sand and Gravel Products Company history (1958) consist of a typed draft, written by Ezra Knowlton. Knowlton describes the company's early history, the construction of each of the plants, and the major contracts. Also included is a brief section on the unionization of the company and subsequent employee-management relations.

The Valeo Mining Company map details the Blue Ledge Mining District's geology and properties, located in Wasatch County, Utah.

The Walker Brothers papers (1860-1895) contain the correspondence relating to the Walker Brothers and their business. There is also a court brief, "Prince of Wales et al. v. Highland Chief et al" and a brief biographical sketch of Matthew and Mercy Walker.

The John Elliott Welsh papers (circa 1910-2000) is composed of mining and geological materials collected by Welsh, a geologist who received his Ph.D. from the University of Utah in 1959. The collection is centered around mining and geology in Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho, and Wyoming and includes maps, reports, essays, articles, correspondence, charts, diagrams, and notes. Also included in the collection are some personal papers and class materials.

The James Westfield papers (1839-1971) contains documents pertaining to his career with the Bureau of Mines and his advocacy work on safety and accident prevention.

The Edward B. Wilder letterpress books (1869-1905) were created by this mining agent regarding his marketing of mines in Nevada and Utah.

The Don Willie papers (1917-1970) consist of materials relating to the mines of the U.S. Smelting, Refining, and Mining Company which were mines located in Lark and Bingham, Utah.

The Clark L. Wilson papers (1894-1996) contain correspondence, reports, brochures, maps, drawings, business materials, personal materials, and news clippings pertaining to the mining industry in Utah. Included is information regarding Wilson's appointment to serve as a member of the Utah Air Conservation Committee where he represented the mining industry.

The Phillip M. Wright collection (1940s-1970s) consists of materials concerning various mining companies in Utah and surrounding states. Included are correspondence, reports, agreements, prospecting information, and other papers. Phillip M. Wright (b. 1938) is a retired research faculty of the University of Utah.

The Lloyd R. Yeaton collection consists of correspondence, circulars, and news clippings relating to the uranium industry in Utah and surrounding states during the 1950s.

The Ray Yourdon photograph collection consists of images of western Colorado, including the gilsonite mining areas of Watson and Dragon, Utah and the area around Grand Junction, Colorado; gilsonite mines; farm scenes in Western Colorado; family photographs; travel photos from Colorado, California, and Wyoming, and miscellaneous unidentified images.

The Art Zeldin photograph collection contains photos of Utah copper factories and emission control projects.
