Biographical / Historical
Susan Sunada was born in Utah, the daughter of Japanese-American pioneers. A graduate of Los Angeles City College, Susan worked as a photojournalist for the Deseret News in the 1960s and 1970s and was presented with an "Outstanding Correspondent" award. She was the writer, producer, and director for Logan's Bicentennial Celebration ice show and has represented Japanese and Chinese pioneers in the Cache Valley's "Festival of the American West" for numerous years. In 2002, Susan was awarded the National Association for Asian American Studies Lifetime Achievement award. She continues to offer a wealth of information from her significant research on Japanese pioneers. She is the author of Tiny Treasures (1970), Wedding Treasures (1974), and Japanese Pioneers in the Intermountain Area (1991).

George worked as a commercial artist for Sears. Susan was the Foreign Student Advisor for Utah State University, a secretary for Baugh Real Estate, executive secretary to the mayor, and a photo-journalist for the Deseret News in Salt Lake City, Utah.
